# Sample agents

> Curated example agents — what each demonstrates, and how to deploy one.

Nasiko ships ready-to-deploy example agents: small, standalone A2A containers, each doing one thing. Read them as reference implementations or deploy them as-is.

## Domain and utility agents

Each calls a real public API (no key required unless noted), written as a minimal [A2A](/build/a2a) example in Rust or Go.

| Agent | What it demonstrates |
| - | - |
| `weather` | Current conditions and 3-day forecast via Open-Meteo |
| `hackernews` | Browsing and searching Hacker News |
| `books` | Searching Open Library |
| `github` (Go) | Searching public repos and browsing contents |
| `nutrition` | Nutrition facts lookup |
| `finance-agent` | Exchange rates and crypto market data |
| `legal-agent` | Full-text search across SEC EDGAR filings |
| `hr-agent` | Public holidays and business-day calculations |
| `paper` | Searching arXiv and Semantic Scholar |
| `docs` | crates.io crate info, versions, and doc links |
| `devops-agent` | GitHub repo metadata and CI/CD run history |
| `repo-watch-agent` | Repo activity over a window, with automatic deep-dives on risky commits |
| `currency-agent` | A converter with no LLM and no outbound HTTP — the simplest possible A2A agent |
| `coding` | An inline ReAct loop over an OpenAI-compatible model, with tools confined to a sandboxed workspace |
| `assistant-agent` | Discovers peer agents via the registry, delegates, and synthesizes — one agent calling others |

## Framework demos

The same small task — answering a question from Wikipedia — implemented once per framework, showing that A2A and zero-code instrumentation work regardless of what you built with.

| Agent | Framework |
| - | - |
| `claude-sdk` | Claude Agent SDK |
| `langchain` | LangChain |
| `google-adk` | Google Agent Development Kit |
| `openai` | OpenAI Agents SDK |
| `langgraph` | LangGraph — a currency converter instead, showing multi-turn dialogue and streaming |
| `crewai` | CrewAI — image generation and editing instead |

Use these when deciding which framework to build in. Each is a complete, deployable reference for wiring that framework to A2A.

## Reusable skill snippets

Single-capability building blocks meant to be copied into an agent rather than deployed: `arxiv-search`, `http-request`, `tmdb-search`, `web-search`, `wikipedia-search`.

## Auto-deploying at startup

`SEED_AGENTS` is a space-separated list of image references, read **once at server boot**:

```sh theme={null}
SEED_AGENTS="nasiko/weather nasiko/finance-agent:v2"
```

On startup the Nasiko server registers new images, redeploys changed ones, and leaves unchanged ones alone. It runs as a background task, so it doesn't block readiness, and one image's failure doesn't stop the others.

<Warning>
  `SEED_AGENTS` is read once at process start, not watched. Editing it requires a control-plane restart to take effect. `SEED_FORCE_PULL` forces a redeploy of every listed image on the next boot even if its reference didn't change — useful after pushing a new build under the same tag.
</Warning>

## Deploying one yourself

<Warning>
  **Enterprise feature (partially).** `nasiko registry pull` assumes a reachable registry
  (typically the `nasiko-ee`-hosted artifact registry — see [artifact
  registry](/build/registry/overview)). `nasiko deploy` itself is real OSS functionality
  (pushes to the embedded `/v2/*` OCI registry) — you can deploy any local image with it, this
  particular pull step is just the registry-hosted shortcut.
</Warning>

```sh theme={null}
nasiko registry pull nasiko/weather
nasiko deploy nasiko/weather
```

See [Agent Development Lifecycle](/build/overview) for the full workflow and the [artifact registry guide](/build/registry/overview) for everything published beyond this set.
